Math Symbol

4/18/07 Hi!I was just helping with a 3rd grade math acuity assessment and a few problems came up. Question 16 (I believe) a number line with fractions - no matter how big we made it the fractions didn't get larger. Very hard to read. questions 24, 25 and 28 all involved the use of this symbol ( ' ) question 24 was 2 ' 7 = 7 ' b question 28 was 1 ' 4 = (choices are 3, 1, 4 or 5) I looked at it carefully to make sure it wasn't * I wasn't sure what the children were supposed to do. Did I miss the meaning of some math symbol ? Diane Dwyer Math IST
